Located in the lively San Pedro Square, Blanco Urban Venue offers a modern and sophisticated setting that works beautifully for multicultural weddings. Beginning with Ganesh Puja
Like many traditional Hindu weddings, Honey and Harsh’s ceremony began with Ganesh Puja, a prayer offered to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the symbol of good fortune.
This ritual sets the tone for the entire wedding, inviting blessings for a smooth and joyful journey ahead. As family gathered around the mandap and prayers were offered, there was a calm and spiritual energy that filled the space.
These quieter, meaningful moments are always special for me to capture. They reflect the depth and significance behind every Hindu wedding tradition.
Haldi & Mehndi: Colorful Pre-Wedding Traditions
Before the wedding day, Honey and Harsh celebrated their Haldi Ceremony, one of the most fun and lively traditions. Family and friends applied turmeric paste to the couple, symbolizing purification, protection, and good luck.
The Haldi ceremony was full of laughter and playful moments. Everyone joined in, creating a joyful and relaxed atmosphere that made for some beautiful candid photos. These are the moments I love capturing — genuine smiles, spontaneous laughter, and real emotions.
The bride also had a stunning Mehndi ceremony, where intricate henna designs were applied to her hands and feet. These detailed patterns symbolize love, happiness, and prosperity, and they always add such a beautiful visual element to the wedding story.
The Energetic Baraat Arrival
The Baraat is always one of the most exciting parts of a Hindu wedding, and Harsh’s arrival was full of energy and celebration. Surrounded by family and friends, he danced his way to the venue as music filled the air.
There was so much joy and movement during the procession, and it created some incredibly dynamic and lively moments to photograph.
When the Baraat arrived at Blanco Urban Venue, Honey’s family welcomed everyone with the Milni ceremony, where family members greeted each other with garlands and warm embraces. It was a beautiful moment symbolizing the coming together of two families.
Kanyadaan: A Meaningful Family Moment
One of the most emotional parts of the ceremony was Kanyadaan. During this ritual, Honey’s parents placed her hand into Harsh’s hand, symbolizing their trust and blessings as she begins a new chapter in her life.
There’s always so much emotion in this moment — not just for the couple, but for the entire family. I always try to capture these expressions as naturally as possible, because they tell such a powerful story.
Mangalphera and the Sacred Saat Phere
At the heart of the ceremony is the sacred fire ritual known as Mangalphera or Saat Phere.
Honey and Harsh circled the sacred fire together, making vows that represent their lifelong commitment. In Hindu tradition, the fire acts as a divine witness to their marriage.
Each round symbolizes promises of love, support, responsibility, and partnership. For me, this is always one of the most meaningful parts of the wedding to photograph — the combination of tradition, symbolism, and raw emotion is truly powerful.
Saptapadi: Seven Steps Toward a Shared Future
Following the fire ritual, Honey and Harsh performed Saptapadi, taking seven steps together as they made promises to support and care for each other throughout their lives.
Each step represents a different vow — from building a home together to standing by each other through all of life’s moments. This ritual marks the spiritual completion of the marriage, and it’s always a beautiful moment to witness and document.
Sindoor & Mangalsutra: Symbols of Marriage
After the vows, Harsh performed two important rituals that symbolize their union.
He applied Sindoor to Honey’s hair parting, marking her as married, and then tied the Mangal Sutra, a sacred necklace representing their bond.
These moments are deeply emotional and visually meaningful, and for me, they become some of the most memorable images from the entire ceremony.
Vidaai: A Heartfelt Farewell
The final part of the wedding was Vidaai, the emotional farewell where Honey said goodbye to her family as she began her new journey.
As she threw rice over her head, symbolizing gratitude and blessings for her home, there was a mix of emotions — happiness, love, and a touch of bittersweet farewell.
These moments are always incredibly powerful, and I focus on capturing them in a way that feels honest and respectful.
